DAVID BRACKETT Running for Director of the NCIHC Board of Directors
It would be a huge honor for me to be considered for the Director position at NCIHC. I believe my expertise in medical language access, experience building and expanding organizations and proven leadership will help elevate NCIHC to the next level. In 2010 I founded Linguava with just one employee and led it to flourish into a global enterprise reaching $30M in sales with over 100 dedicated team members and a network of thousands of linguists across 250+ languages. My passion for language access extends beyond business and I love to give presentations on leadership, the pivotal role of interpreters, core values, and innovative team-building strategies. I have served as President of the Oregon Healthcare Interpreters Association (OHCIA) for three years and currently chair the NCIHC Languages of Limited Diffusion (LLD) committee. In this role, I have championed the training and development of interpreters for languages of limited diffusion and created a podcast called LLD Conversations. I also host The Invisible Profession, a popular podcast that equips listeners with invaluable insights and practical tools for success in interpretation and translation. As a nationally certified Spanish medical interpreter, I am deeply committed to advancing health equity and improving patient outcomes. I believe this opportunity as Director for NCIHC will allow me to assist with further expanding the incredible mission of the organization and enhancing language access for all spoken and signed languages.
