Instructional Design Basics for Training Interpreters

As interpreter trainers, it can be a struggle to convey your expertise and practical wisdom to training participants in ways that “stick.” Understanding core principles of instructional design can help trainers design and adapt curricula, materials, and assessments to fit their specific contexts, populations, and needs. This webinar will introduce key concepts you can systematically apply to any training to maximize effectiveness, efficiency, and engagement.

Note: This webinar topic will be most useful for trainers, educators, and instructors of interpreters.

Webinar purpose:

  • Create an aligned learning design for training.

  • Recognize common errors in training that can cause barriers to learning.

  • Identify teaching strategies that reach diverse participants in training environments.
